Services Performed
- Performed a diagnostic scan. The following codes were logged: P0685 (ECM/PCM internal circuit malfunction) P0246 (rocker arm control system bank 1 stuck off due to low voltage) P0325 (knock sensor circuit) When using freeze frame data I discovered that the battery voltage was very low at the time codes P0685 and P0246 were set. I then proceeded to test the battery. It required charging. I charged the battery and tested it and the battery failed. It had 56% of the CCA available after charging. We are going to replace the battery. As for code P0325, freeze frame data showed no signals were being sent. I used my scope and connected the circuit. There was only reference voltage. This indicates either the circuit is open or the sensor is completely failed. When checking the wiring I could see that the wiring was not connected due to rodent damage. I also found 3 rodent nests in the engine compartment and one was in the valley of the intake manifold. Please see repairs on the repair order.
- Requested. Performed a full inspection of vehicle.
- Due to battery testing faulty after charging. Performed battery testing after there were codes present relating to low voltage. Removed battery retaining device. Removed cables. Replaced battery. Re-installed all removed items.
- Battery is disconnected. Relieved fuel pressure. Removed engine cover. Removed upper intake manifold housing plate. Removed intake air inlet system. Removed middle intake manifold section. Removed drive belt. Detached power steering pump. Removed all attaching hardware, brackets to lower intake manifold. Removed fuel rails with fuel injectors. Removed lower intake manifold. Discovered that rodents had eaten the harness that is connected to the knock sensor. Due to mileage, replaced the knock sensor. Replaced the connector. Soldered and heat shrunk a new connector. Cleaned all rodent nesting debris. Cleaned all mating surfaces. Installed new gaskets. Re-installed all removed items. Cleared codes. Test drove.
- Purged master cylinder of existing brake fluid. Cleaned reservoir. Pressure bled system at each wheel.
- Performed fluid service. Verified fluid level. Test drove.
- Rubber had failed. Gained access. Replaced worn line. Cleaned area.
- Due by time and or mileage. Removed all brackets, fasteners and hardware to access all ignition coils. Removed all ignition coils. Replaced all spark plugs. Re-installed all removed items.
- Due by time, mileage and or condition. Performed cooling system service. Purged system of all existing fluid after treatment. Vacuum filled cooling system.
- CABIN AIR FILTER – Remove & Replace
